INTRODUCTION

The Institute of Geology is one of the oldest Institutes of the University. It was established as Department of Geology in 1973 before the establishment of UAJ&K. The Institute offers BS Applied Geology and MS Applied Geology professional degree programmes. Recently the Institute has expanded its academic/research horizons by inducting MPhil and PhD programmes. BS Applied Geology is a fouryear course. The main focus of the programme is to provide orientation in the field of Applied Geology

BS Applied Geology (Four-Years) FSc Science Group Pre-Medical Pre-Engineering General Science (excluding Economics and Psychology subjects) FSc with Geology Three-year diploma after matric in Mining, Civil, Electronics, Electrical and Mechanical Engineering from Govt. Polytechnical Institutes. The candidate must have at least second division.
