INTRODUCTION

The computer Center at Muzaffarabad Campus was upgraded to department of Computer Sciences & Information Technology (CS & IT) in the year 2000. Since then the Department has experienced significant growth over the last few years, and is now home to 20 well qualified faculty members (5 are PhD and 5 are MPhil/MS degree holders) and more than 500 students. The Computer Science program at DCS & IT integrates the study of important theoretical foundations with the study of powerful scientific methodologies that are central to the field, providing excellent preparation for graduate study in computer science as well as work in the profession. Department houses computer labs.
In all these Labs, networking facilities have been deployed for twenty-eight computers systems in each. Five computer Labs have been fully equipped with latest computers. PERN connectivity has been deployed and internet facilities are provided not only to CS&IT department but also to both the city and Chehla campuses.
