About two years ago there was no institution in Public sector to provide quality legal education in the State. Therefore, the University of Azad Jammu & Kashmir felt it necessary to set up Department of Law in February 2002 on self-finance basis. The duration of the course extends over three years and it is designed to cover variety of areas in the field of law. The Programs include subjects, which are relevant in the changing world and emerging globalization. These include public International Laws, Environmental Laws, and Intellectual Property Laws. A fair amount of weightage has been accorded to Islamic Laws. In order to impart high standard of education best available eminent lawyers, and senior bureaucrats have been engaged. Job Opportunities for Graduates Law knowing is of paramount importance. Law graduates are sought after usually everywhere. Our graduates have bright prospects in Judiciary, Law Institutions, Administrations NGO's, and private sector. The lawyers are also playing an important role in interpreting laws in the courts for provision of justice at individual as well as societal level.
