Zoology
The Zoology is one of the most active department in the country with major emphasis on research and post graduate education.
Zoology is a multidisciplinary subject and a balanced blend of classic Zoology (Developmental Biology, Physiology, Paleontology, Evolution , Zoogeography and Taxonomy) and modern Zoology (including current discipline that is Toxicology, Microbiology, Cancer Biology, Cell and Molecular Biology, Biotechnology and Genetics). These disciplines of influences over lives and hold a bright future, with out these disciplines the development in Zoology is inconceivable.
Owing the fact that Azad Jammu and Kashmir provide natural rich source of wile life and fisheries as well. Some endangered wild life species found only in AJ&K. Hence Azad Jammu and Kashmir has potential to explore these species.
Rivers of Azad Jammu and Kashmir are full of water round the year. Fresh water aquatic life can be enhanced or improved through this programme and are main foxing area of Zoology. Protection and conservation of aquatic and wild life naturally lead to words Environmental Biology, which is another foxing area of this programme.
