Directorate of Academics, Education Planning & Research
This Directorate was established in July 1999 and was previously named as Directorate of Advanced Studies and Research (DASR). Later the nomenclature was changed to Directorate of Academic, Education Planning & Research (DAEPR) in August 2001. The directorate is headed by a Director and is assisted by three Officers namely Assistant Director, Planning Officer and Statistical Officer. The duties and responsibilities assigned by the syndicate include:
Regulates M. Phil and Ph. D. programmes, facilitates teaching departments in organizing the co-curricular activities viz., seminars, conferences, workshops and look after matters related the scholarships, applications from teachers and students for best teacher of the year and best student of the year in various disciplines.The Education Planning section is responsible for preparing short and long term development plans, annual development programmes (ADP) for various schemes for maintaining liaison with Higher Education Commission (HEC), Ministry of Education (MoE), Kashmir Council, the AJ&K Government and other donor agencies. It also monitors about achievements and expenditures of the ongoing projects and prepares various reports/ briefs and keeps liaison with the teaching departments. The directorate also takes necessary steps to procure various scientific and laboratory equipment from local and foreign markets through development schemes. It executes and implements schemes, monitors and evaluates the progress of the development projects. The job of the directorate is also to assist the authority in developing linkage with national and international agencies/ institutions.
Research section looks after matters pertaining to the promotion of research activities. The research proposals and theses submitted by the M. Phil /Ph. D. scholars, faculty research projects, rules and regulations for higher studies, etc. are presented before the Advanced Studies and Research Board (ASRB).
