Institute of Kashmir Studies

 

 

The Institute of Kashmir Studies is situated in Chehla Campus of the Azad Jammu & Kashmir University along the bank of the river Neelum. The Institute was founded in January 1986, with its autonomous character as an academic institution for objectively studying, analyzing, debating, and re-evaluating multi dimensional aspects of Kashmir, its rich Culture, & Political, intellectual, and spiritual heritage. The Institute of Kashmir Studies is offering new fields of studies having applied implications along with the traditional & moral values to promote broader vision through inter and intradisciplinary approach. IKS has succeeded in launching MSc level course in Kashmir Studies (The 1st batch admitted to the course is in the 3rd semester of the said course.) The main objective of the program is to enable students to be elevated to the highest seat of learning. In order to impart dynamism of social phenomena coupled with the comprehension of Pakistani society. Students are to comprehend the requirements of coming epochs.
