    Botany

The Department of Botany was established in 1989 at old University Campus Muzaffarabad. The aim of establishing the Department was to introduce modern quality higher education to selected young People from across Azad Kashmir. Being the premier institution of higher education, it is promoting modern research. It covers various aspects of current research in Plant sciences. With its broad scope the Department provides useful opportunities to the students in different fields of Plant sciences.

After the earthquake tragedy of October, 8, 2005 it has been temporarily shifted to Islamabad. Classes are being held at University of Arid Agriculture Rawalpindi. Students are most important asset. It is generally believed and I quote T.S.Eliott, “the most important thing for a University to have is students, if you can have something else then have a library, if you can still have something more, have a faculty and if you can still have something else have buildings.” Our students are fantastic of whom there is no match and I can prove it in a thousand different ways that our students are the best. We encourage our students to strive for the highest standards of quality education. We teach good values, teach them to be competent, to be thorough, and mould them. We believe that investment in education is the best investment any nation can make. Our policy is to upgrade higher education systems steadily, bring it at par with advanced countries. We as a team are endeavoring hard under the able and dynamic leadership of an eminent academician and renowned scientist of the country, Professor Dr. Manzoor Hussain Khan, Vice Chancellor University of Azad Jammu and Kashmir to save the precious academic year of our students. We in the academics are proud of him and wish him success and know that Allah will always be on his friend and guide.
