Food Technology
The department was established in 1980 in the Faculty of Agriculture Rawalakot. Since its existence this department always remained
in leading position and produced hundreds of professional food technologists currently serving at national and international level of
having very good reputation. There is a constant demand for food technology graduates, both men and women. This demand is created by the high percentage of foods marketed in processed form rather than as fresh or raw products. The Department of Food Science and
Technology offers both undergraduate and post-graduate degree programs designed to give basic and technical training in preparation for work in such industries as meat, poultry & fish processing, dairy and milk processing,
beverages, fruit & vegetable processing, fat & oil processing & sugar technology.
Superior students are encouraged to
undertake post graduate study since great
opportunities are now open to food scientists & technologist with advanced degrees in
research and as technical manager in food
industries.
