Lincoln corner was established at the University of Azad Jammu and Kashmir in the year 2007 with the collaboration of the Public
Affairs Section of the U.S. Embassy in Islamabad and the UAJK
after signing of an official Memorandum of understanding
between the two organizations. The center was inaugurated by the Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir on April 26,
It was established as an information resource center with the view to provide the people of AJK an access to the required
information about the global international matters in general and about United States in particular. It was aimed at promoting
mutual understanding and fostering better relations between the citizens of the two countries.
The center is fast becoming a vibrant venue that provides its users quality access to information regarding research, education and other areas of interest. The information center offers Global understanding Virtual Cultural Classes held twice a week by establishing link via internet with other International Universities around the globe. Such as: (The University of East California USA, The University of Lima, Peru and The University of Malaysia). The said programs enable our students to interact with the student of other international universities and share their views and perspective about their respective religions and cultures. The information center has become more dynamic and multipurpose by arranging and conducting community based programs involving both the public and private sector organizations along with the faculty and students of the university.
The Center arranges 4 or more activities on monthly basis. Thus it allows the students to make use of the available resources by accessing information through the available resources.
