Scholarship under Faculty Development Program
University of Azad Jammu & Kashmir, Muzaffarabad has embarked upon Faculty Development Program to upgrade the quality of its faculty to meet its continuously growing requirements. Under the Faculty Development initiatives, PhD level scholarships are available at leading Universities of European countries i.e France, Germany, Austria, Italy, Sweden, Norway, Netherlands, New Zealand , Thailand, China and other institution of higher learning abroad recognized by HEC in the following fields.

Eligibility Criteria
The aspiring candidates must meet the following minimum eligibility
criteria:
• Applicant must be a Pakistani/ AJ&K National.
• Minimum 16 years of education in the relevant field of study from HEC
recognized Institution, Eighteen years earned degree (M.Sc/M.A/MS/ or equivalent)
in the relevant subject will be preferred.
• Not less than 2nd division/45% marks in entire academic career.
• Maximum two second division throughout the academic career. In case
of regular faculty members having 18 years of education, at least two 1st divisions
in academic career would be required.
• Maximum age of 40 years for the regular faculty members and 35 years
for fresh candidates by the closing date of applications.
• Persons already availing any HEC/Government Scholarship are NOT eligible
to apply.
• Awardees must serve in the University for at least 5 years immediate
after completion of their studies.
• Minimum cumulative 50% academics marks in GRE test conducted by the
NTS.
Application Procedure
Prospective candidates should fill the application form available at www.ajku.edu.pk/scform
and send alongwith the Bank Draft/Postal Order of Rs.500/- (non refundable)
in favor of Director Finance & Planning, University of Azad Jammu &
Kashmir, Muzaffarabad as application processing fee.
Attach following documents alongwith prescribed application form:
• CV/ Resume.
• Attested copy of NIC.
• Attested copies of all educational degrees/certificates.
• Two recent photographs.
• One Page “statement of purpose” related to applicants aspiration
to pursue higher studies in the particular field.
• Brief description of research interests.
• NOC from the employer (for in service candidates)
• Attested copies of NTS result card.
Three letters of reference from academic/ research supervisor.
• Short Listed candidates will be invited for interview.
Scholarship award will comprise as (i) Tuition Fee; US$8300/ per annum, (ii)
Stipend US$1200/per month and returned air ticket.
Application forms, complete in all respect, should reach the office stated below
on or before 19th April, 2008. Incomplete applications will not be entertained.
